Manchester City have denied making any offer to Lionel Messi, according to reports.
Messi’s contract is up this summer, and he has been linked with a move away from FC Barcelona.
Messi was close to leaving the Catalan outfit last summer and had even handed in a transfer request. However, he eventually stayed put, but with his current contract set to expire in less than six months, speculation regarding his future has been rife.
Having entered the final six months of his contract at Barcelona, Messi is free to talk to potential suitors. However, the 33-year-old has maintained he would wait until the end of the season before deciding his future.
Man City are among clubs mooted as Messi’s potential destination should he decides to leave Barcelona.

A report in The Sun had claimed the Premier League side would offer Messi a contract worth £433m. However, a Man City spokesperson has told Goal that the speculation is not true and that there have been no talks.
Meanwhile, Man City are flying high in the Premier League this season, with Pep Guardiola’s side enjoying a ten-point lead at the top. They are also in contention for the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup finals.
