Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Alexandre Lacazette from Arsenal in the summer, with AS claiming that Atletico especially are preparing to renew their interest in making a move for the striker amid a “strained” relationship with manager, Mikel Arteta.
Atletico had tried to sign the French international from Lyon in 2017, only for the 29-year-old to instead move to north London for a fee of £46.5million. The Spanish side are keen to renew their interest but they could have competition from their city rivals – who have also joined the race to sign the striker, who has 18 months left on his current deal.

Lacazette is Arsenal’s highest goalscorer this season with nine goals from 21 matches, but despite his form it is understood that he is not in Arteta’s long-term plans for the future. The player for his part is yet to open up on his future plans considering that he has just 18 months left on his current deal at the club.
The striker who has come in for criticism for his performances in the past has made 148 appearances for the Gunners so far, scoring 57 goals, while helping the club win the 2019/20 FA Cup.
